Ringtones
Problem 1
Remember when I said I accidentally saved the ringtones at 11025HZ? I am now remembering why I encoded at that setting.
The Macromedia Flash player has a problem playing files that are encoded at a rate that is not a multiple of 11.025 kHz. This effect is sometimes called the “chipmunk” effect: the file is played at double speed. To avoid this, encode MP3s at 11.025 kHz 22.050 kHz or 44.100 kHz.
However, I re-encoded these at 22050HZ so I thought the problem would be gone. The audio files sounded good if you are using Firefox.
Solution: I have re-encoded them at 22050HZ and a bit rate of 32. They sound better now and play in the flash player without sounding like chipmunks.
Problem 2
These files are embeded using a player and can not be downloaded.
